“I am letting you into the secret of all secrets, mirrors are gates through which death comes and goes. Moreover if you see your whole life in a mirror you will see death at work as you see bees behind the glass in a hive.” – from Orpheus by Jean Cocteau

This is just one amazing Quote!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very nice image too!
Thank you – yes, a true classic cinema quote and in no small part, very true.
Very true
Enjoy a great new week.
Likewise!
Hmm, I’ll not be able to look into a mirror in the same way for a while. Great shot.
Thanks 🙂
I too will be more cautious while looking into the mirror! Great quote and photo!
Thanks Jenn – A reality check for me today – out delivering supplies to the homeless in my city – crawling around old factories with more than a camera 🙂
Bless you Robert! Your good deeds are not in vain!
Never in vain when you are doing the “right” thing 🙂
The quote is CHILLING! The image is amazing. I’m in continued awe at how you present these images in particular colors….whether you enhance them or whatever you do to them….they are brilliant!
Thanks Laura – actually most of my edits are tone and levels (old school burn and dodge) – I let the beauty of the location(s) speak for themselves without much enhancement. however, as you know, the art of this is setting up the shot from the get-go 🙂
You’re welcome Robert. You are very good at setting up your shots then. 🙂
Very nicely done Robert 🙂
Thanks Joe!
chilling quote!! – so no mirrors allowed!! great photo Robert!
Thanks – great film if you have never seen it – very innovative camera techniques.
What a quote!!! I always had a dislike for mirrors…now it makes sense…Is that from a book? Whatever it is i have to check it out! 😀
It is from a 1950 film Orphée by Cocteau – staring Jean Marais – who also starred in Cocteau’s 1940s version of Beauty and the Beast – both absolutely fantastic and with no CGI – but there is still magic in them.
