Hospital at Letchworth Village — Thiells, New York
One of the many rooms, its purpose long forgotten, inside the hospital dying the slow death of abandonment.

The camera gave me an incredible freedom. It gave me the ability to parade through the world and look at people and things very, very closely. Carrie Mae Weems

My world through the lens of my camera!

I’m finding it interesting that all of the inside paint seems to be peeling in somewhat of the same manner. And I just know you had to have had on your respirator!
Thanks – there were a lot of broken windows, but not much roof damage (leaking) – which I think allows all the walls to age at the same rate. Yes, I was all suited up even though my breath was freezing on inside of the respirator.
Thought so…I’m sorry but when I imagine you all suited up I see Breaking Bad 😉
I take that as a compliment…but I am mindful of stumbling across a real “shake & bake” lab in my travels – luckily, crystal is not too pervasive here in the Northeast.
You’re getting very dark Robert…..
On an express elevator to the dark side…
shudders
The beautiful side of decay…plus, textures everywhere 😀
Thanks Alex!
I always get such a sad and lonely feeling with the abandoned dwellings. But I like it!
I get sad only after doing my research on the place’s past.
That would make any normal person sad.
Any normal person and me 🙂

yes, rotting from within!!
Those lace curtains are the best part: lace seems fragile, but it’s outlasting glass and paint and all sorts of “stronger” things.
This place and Pennhurst Asylum had the greatest amount of curtains still hanging of all the other places I have been to.
Thank you for another interesting series of photos from an abandoned building, great photos!
Thanks to you for viewing – I have barely scratched the surface at this location and hope to go back when the weather is a bit warmer…my respirator kept icing up on this one.
