Shenango China Company — New Castle, Pennsylvania

In late 1939 the Shenango Pottery Company reached another agreement to produce fine china for a German company: Rosenthal China. As a result of this agreement the Castleton China Company was incorporated in May 1940 and the china bearing the Castleton name became the finest quality china in the entire world and could be found in the most luxurious hotels and restaurants around the world, including the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City.

  1. It always amazes me that in these abandoned places there are so many “artifacts” left casually lying around. Many of the images show the places as if the people involved simply got up and left one day, leaving everything as if they were going to return in five minutes. Kind of eerie, and fascinating at the same time.
