Random Abandoned | Part 27 (2016)

Grossinger’s Resort — Liberty, New York

Jennie Grossinger treated every single guest at the resort like family. As someone with charm, and a penchant for remembering names and faces and attention to detail, Jennie became a legendary hostess of the area. Through sales of bonds, she raised millions during World War II, and a US Army aircraft was named in her honor as well as  a clinic and convalescent home in Israel. To many, she was Grossinger’s and nothing was too big or outlandishly extravagant for the resort.
