In March 2012, the city of Fallsburg had threatened to condemn the condominium due to numerous violations including inoperable sprinklers, fire alarms, and fire doors,[29] but the owners promised to fix the issues. On April 14, 2012 a fire broke out in an unused boiler room, eventually drawing over 43 fire companies and 300 firefighters. Today, only a small section of rooms and the dinner theater remain.

A short-lived design for a school in the 1960s was the round school…where everyone goes in circles and there are no exterior distractions to the children on the inside…
